2010 Labor Day Celebration and BBQ Cook-Off
Public is invited! All proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Free children’s entertainment, petting zoo, pony rides, moon walk, and a climbing wall. BBQ Cook-Off (contact Rose Warren 713-926-4433 for applications) Sanctioned by the Texas Gulf Coast Cookers Association. Entry fees required. Campbell Hall exhibits on Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm with a silent auction on Sunday (proceeds go to the Harris County AFL-CIO). All seniors aged 60 and older who reside in the City of Pasadena are invited to join the group at no charge. Each member receives a card, which provides discounts for city programs and classes offered through the Parks and Recreation Department. Local merchants are encouraged to offer discounts on goods and services for Silver Star Seniors.

Second Annual Council 10959 Golf Outing
The St. Bernadette’s Bay Area Council Knights of Columbus is planning its annual fall golf outing. A new 2010 model car of up to $25,000 value will be awarded to any player who has a hole in one on the sixth hole, and other prizes will be offered at other holes. La Porte Health & Safety Fair
The Health and Safety Fair provides information and helpful hints for families and citizens of all ages. The event is free and open to the public. The first 500 children at the fair will receive free Safety Fair T‐shirts and many door prizes will be given away throughout the event. Exhibits will include free child ID kits, information on fire prevention, free health screenings, the Teddy Bear First Aid Clinic. There will also be fire and ladder trucks, ambulances, command vans, Haz Mat rescue trailers, and a 24‐foot rock wall.
